About Charter Schools

Charter schools are public schools of choice that have greater flexibility in implementing different teaching methods and philosophies. A charter school operates according to the terms of a charter, or contract, that has been approved by a local and state board of education.

Having exceeded its performance standards, Drew Charter School’s charter has been renewed through June 2010 by unanimous approval by both the state and Atlanta Boards of Education.
