Drew’s Instructional Program Drew sets high standards for its students and celebrates individual achievement. A rich and academically rigorous curriculum focuses on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and excellence in reading, writing, math, science and more.
Language Arts Students read excerpts from classic and current works to improve reading comprehension skills. They also participate in intense writing workshops to enhance their writing skills and learn how to better articulate thoughts and process ideas.
Math This curriculum prepares students for the complexities of math and moves them toward a higher level of abstraction and a better understanding of variables, generalizations, applications to real life situations and informal proofs. Eighth-grade students are prepared and encouraged to take more rigorous course in mathematics including the Mathematics I algebra and the end-of-course test.
Science The three-year middle school program includes units from the life, earth and the physical sciences and promotes an appreciation of how science, mathematics, engineering, arts, technology and society are interrelated.
Social Studies Students study world history, and U.S. history, and Georgia History and build on the connections of history, geography, civics, politics, and economics.
