No Child Left Behind

Drew Charter School made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in the 2007-2008 school year and earned a "Distinguished" status for having done so for four consecutive years. Drew will continue to raise the bar to support high academic achievement.

Highlights from the spring 2008 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT), the test Georgia uses to determine whether a school is making AYP under the federal No Child Left Behind Act, include:

  • In 2008, Drew students met or exceeded their previous year's test performance in every subject except social studies. Most importantly, test results show that more students than ever are not just meeting — but are exceeding — state standards.

  • Overall, the number of Drew students meeting or exceeding state standards for  science in 2008 increased by almost 11 percent when compared with 2007.
