Who We Are
Board of Directors
Drew’s governance structure is carefully designed to ensure the school upholds its mission, vision, and purpose while achieving excellent outcomes for students. The composition of the Drew board reflects diverse areas of expertise including finance, human resources, education, community development, and law. Under this structure, Drew has been able to assemble the resources, human capital and managerial skills necessary to operate an excellent school. The governing board sets policy, provides financial over-sight, and evaluates the Head of School. A rigorous strategic planning process, which occurs every five years, sets the direction of the school.
The Drew Board of Directors is representative of the community the school serves. The board is comprised of parents of students in the school, representatives of the local community and educational leaders. Drew board members are elected at the annual meeting of the Drew Board of Directors. The annual meeting is typically held in August of each year, although the Board of Directors has the ability to determine the date and time of the meeting to suit its needs. In the event of a vacancy on the board, the vacancy may be filled at any board meeting.
Regular Board meetings for the 2017 - 2018 school year are scheduled for the following dates and times:
July 31st - 6:00pm
September 25th - 6:00pm
November 6th - 11:00am
February 26th - 11:00am (rescheduled from February 19th)
April 26th - 6:00pm
June 18 - 11:00am
The Drew Board also holds special meetings as needed.
Board meetings take place in the Eva Davis Board Room at the Drew Charter School Junior/Senior Academy, located at 300 East Lake Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30317.
