Thank you for your interest in Drew Charter School. To be eligible to attend Drew, a prospective student must live within the Atlanta Public Schools District (or be the child of a Drew Charter School board member or full-time employee) and submit an application during the annual lottery application window. Seats are awarded by lottery in order of the school’s enrollment priorities.
Drew uses a weighted lottery to increase the likelihood of serving more economically disadvantaged students. This is in alignment with Drew’s strategic plan and charter, which aims to serve a mixed-income population of at least 65 percent economically disadvantaged students. See Drew’s Enrollment Policies for additional information.
The lottery application window for the 2019-2020 school year is from February 1, 2019 through April 30, 2019. All applications must be submitted online prior to 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on April 30, 2019. Families needing access to a computer may use one in the media center at Drew’s Elementary Academy, located at 301 Eva Davis Way (formerly East Lake Blvd). Computers are available on school days during the application window from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Computer assistance is available, if needed. An email address is not required to submit an application.
An email confirming receipt of the application will be sent if an email address was provided. Applicants will have the option to print a copy of the submitted application for personal records.
All qualifying applications that were received during the application window will be included in a lottery held on May 9, 2019. The lottery will take place at 6 p.m. in the theater at Drew’s Junior/Senior Academy located at 300 Eva Davis Way. Due to limited space, children are not allowed to attend the lottery. You do not need to be present for your student to be included in the lottery or to receive the results. Results will be posted on Drew’s website on May 17th.
During the lottery, each applicant will be anonymously identified by a Lottery Identification Number. If an email address was provided in the application, your Lottery Identification Number will be emailed prior to the lottery. If an email was not provided, you can pick up your Lottery Identification Number in person on May 9 according to this schedule.

All in-person enrollment activities for accepted students must be completed no later than May 24 at 3 p.m., or the seat will be forfeited.
