The First Tee® of East Lake Staff

Nyre Williams is Director of The First Tee of East Lake. Previously, he was director of The First Tee of Nashville. During his tenure at The First Tee of Nashville, he completed his First Tee Coach Certification, distinguishing him as one of only 44 First Tee coaches nationwide to reach this level of achievement. He received his undergraduate degree in health and physical education from Tennessee State University where he played on the school's golf team. Email Mr. Williams.

Jeff Dunovant is Director of Instruction for The First Tee of East Lake. He became a Professional Golfers Association (PGA) member in 1993, making him and his father the first and only black father and son PGA members.  He graduated from Fayetteville State University, where he was the captain of the golf team and MVP.  He served on the Southwest Section PGA Board of Directors and now serves on the Georgia Section PGA.  Email Mr. Dunovant.

Rachel Melendez is an Instructor with The First Tee of East Lake. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia with a major in public relations and a minor in communications. She played golf at the junior and collegiate levels for more than 16 years. She was a scholarship recipient of the Bill Dickey Scholarship Association and now serves as president of its alumni association. Email Ms. Melendez.

Charles Harrison helped launched the junior golf program for East Lake youth and now serves as an instructor for The First Tee of East Lake. He is a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and was ranked 13th best amateur in the country in 1966. He qualified for the U.S. Amateur 16 times, was a quarterfinalist in the 1980 British Amateur and twice played in the Masters Tournament.  He has established a college fund for East Lake youth.
