Drew sets high standards for its students and celebrates individual achievement. A rich and academically rigorous curriculum focuses on excellence in reading, writing, math, science and more.
Students read excerpts from classic works to improve reading comprehension skills. They also participate in intense writing workshops to enhance their writing skills and learn how to better process ideas.
This curriculum prepares students for the complexities of math and moves them toward a higher level of abstraction and a better understanding of variables, generalizations and informal proofs. Eighth-grade students are encouraged to take algebra and the end-of-course test.
The three-year middle school program includes units from the life, earth and the physical sciences and promotes an appreciation of how science, technology and society are interrelated.
Students study world history and U.S. history and build on the connections of history, geography, civics and economics.
