Ms. James, a native Atlantan and product of DeKalb County public schools, has a passion for educating children. She has served as Drew’s Director of Extended Services since 2005.
Before joining Drew, she worked with the Parks and People Foundation in Baltimore, teaching remedial reading skills to third graders. She also has worked as a program development director for the Association of Emory Alumni and as an AmeriCorps VISTA teacher in East Palo Alto, Calif., with the national education nonprofit organization, I Have a Dream® Foundation. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from Emory University and her master’s degree in the sociology of education from Stanford University.
