On Friday, February 12, 2010 we will host “Men Do Read” in conjunction with the African –American Read-In.  The program will be held from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM.  The program is simple – men will visit each homeroom to read a story (or portion of a story) and share how reading is an important part of their daily life (i.e. reading directions, paying bills, reading at work, etc.).  The program is aimed at showing our students that reading is important in men’s lives.  Students most often see women reading (mothers and teachers) so it is important for them to see men reading and talking about reading.
