Dear Drew Charter School Parents:

I understand that recent media reports about cheating on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) in Atlanta Public Schools (APS) may have caused some concern among parents of Drew Charter School students.

I am both saddened and disappointed by the results of the investigation. While the reports are deeply concerning, I want to reassure parents that Drew Charter School is in no way involved in the scandal and Drew students are not impacted.

During the initial investigation, the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement gave Drew its highest rating and declared it a school that is “Clear of Concern” – which validates Drew’s commitment to high educational achievement.

Drew’s culture of high educational achievement does not compromise the integrity of our administrators, faculty or staff. We uphold our commitment to educational excellence and ensure that the educational outcomes of Drew’s students represent an accurate reflection of their academic progress.

I have prepared answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the APS cheating scandal. In addition, I have also provided answers to some questions we’ve also received about the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and APS accreditation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly at don.doran@drewcharterschool.org.
