Black History Month
February is a time to honor and celebrate the incredible contributions, achievements, and leadership of Black Americans throughout history. Drew participates by supporting our school community with meaningful engagement, resources for classrooms, and opportunities to take part in local events around Atlanta.
The 2026 Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations” marks the 100th anniversary of the celebration initiated by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926. This theme highlights the 100 years of intentional efforts to study, preserve, and honor the history, culture, and contributions of African Americans.
