September SEL and Eagle Strong

Our SEL focus for September is Inclusive. Throughout the month, students will explore what it means to make others feel welcomed, valued, and included. We’ll talk about how inclusion shows up in the way we speak, the choices we make, and the way we invite and encourage others to be part of our community. Students will learn that being inclusive can be as simple as noticing someone who may feel left out, inviting someone to join in, listening to different perspectives, and celebrating what makes each person unique.

At home, you can keep the conversation going by asking your child about ways they helped someone feel included during the day. Encourage them to look for opportunities to welcome others, listen with an open mind, and make sure everyone has a chance to participate. These small moments can make a big difference, and together, we’re helping our students build a school community where everyone feels like they belong.

We’ll also be naming our Eagle Strong Student of the Month, a scholar who brings our school values to life through leadership, resilience, positive behavior, and everyday excellence, both in and out of the classroom.
