Enrolling at Drew Charter School

Thank you for your interest in Drew Charter School. Drew is a public charter school that serves students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in the Atlanta Public Schools district. To be eligible to attend Drew, a parent/guardian of a prospective student must submit an application during the annual  lottery application window. Seats are awarded by lottery in order of the school’s enrollment priorities.

Within Priorities C, D and E, Drew uses a weighted lottery to increase the likelihood of serving more economically disadvantaged students. This is in alignment with Drew’s strategic plan and charter, which aims to serve a mixed-income population of at least 65 percent economically disadvantaged students. See Drew’s enrollment policies for additional information.

The Lottery Application

The lottery application window for the 2020-2021 school year closed on April 30, 2020, and the lottery was held on May 7, 2020. The application will reopened on May 15 for families who may have missed the initial application window but would like to add their student to the existing 2020-2021 waitlist. Any eligible post-lottery application will be added to the end of its priority within the waitlist in the order in which it is received. Families who are unable to submit a post-lottery application electronically may contact Drew Enrollment at 404-450-0567 for assistance.

2020-2021 Lottery Application

The Lottery

All qualifying applications that were received during the application window were included in a virtual lottery held on May 7, 2020.  Each applicant was anonymously identified by a Lottery Identification Number. Depending on the communication preference selected when submitting the application, your student’s Lottery Identification Number was emailed and/or texted on May 5, 2020.

Lottery Results and Enrollment

All qualifying applicants were either seated or placed on a waitlist. Results were certified by Drew's public accounting firm and are available here.  Acceptance or waitlist emails will be sent to all qualifying applicants. Acceptance letters will include detailed information about next steps for enrollment. Online enrollment forms for accepted students must be completed no later than June 1, 2020 at 3 p.m., or the seat will be forfeited. On June 5, 2020, seats will begin to be offered to students on the waitlist based on available space.
