Enrolling at Drew Charter School
Thank you for your interest in Drew Charter School. Drew is a public charter school that serves students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in the Atlanta Public Schools district. To be eligible to attend Drew, a parent/guardian of a prospective student must submit an application during the annual lottery application window. Seats are awarded by lottery in order of the school’s enrollment priorities.
Drew uses a weighted lottery to increase the likelihood of serving more economically disadvantaged students. This is in alignment with Drew’s strategic plan and charter, which aims to serve a mixed-income population. See Drew’s enrollment policies for additional information.
The lottery application window for the 2021-2022 school year was February 1, 2021 through April 30, 2021. All qualifying applications that were received during the application window were included in a lottery held on May 6, 2021. Certified lottery results can be found here.
The application reopened on May 15, 2021 to accept post-lottery applications. Any eligible post-lottery application will be added to the end of its priority within the existing waitlist in the order in which it was received.

All applicants who participated in the lottery received an acceptance or waitlist email on May 14, 2021. Acceptance emails included detailed information about how to complete the enrollment process. If your student was seated, you must formally accept the offer by completing the following two steps by noon on May 25:
1. Complete the Online Enrollment Form. You may accept the offer and begin your student’s online enrollment form by signing into your SchoolMint account and clicking “Accept." Step-by-step instructions are available here. You will receive a confirmation email and/or text once your form has been submitted.
2. Submit All Required Documents from the Enrollment Checklist. As a part of the enrollment process, new students are required to submit all proof-of-residency documents and vital documents outlined in the Enrollment Checklist. The parent/guardian of all new-to-Drew* students must sign up for an in-person document submission appointment ahead of time via the link provided in the acceptance letter.
*Rising kindergartners who are currently enrolled in Drew’s Pre-K (Cox Pre-K Program) and Drew staff students are not required to submit documents in person and will be prompted to upload required documents when completing their online enrollment form.
In order to maintain social distancing protocols, we require all parent/guardians of new-to-Drew students to pre-schedule an appointment for in-person submission of required documents. Appointments are available every 15 minutes during the times listed above. We encourage you to schedule your time as soon as possible as we are limiting the number of appointments at any given time. If you do not complete the online enrollment form and submit required documents by 12 p.m. on May 25, 2021, your student will forfeit his/her seat. No enrollment is considered final until all required documents have been received and reviewed by Drew staff. You will receive an enrollment verification email and/or text once this is complete. Please be patient as this process may take several weeks.
If your student was placed on the waitlist, they will remain on the waitlist through the remainder of the school year unless a spot opens in the applicable grade and they are the next student on the list. Should a seat become available for your student, you will receive a phone call, email, and/or a text message (whichever method of communication you selected on your application) extending the offer. Once an offer is made you will have five business days to accept the seat and complete the enrollment process.
