Enrolling at Drew Charter School

Thank you for your interest in Drew Charter School. Drew is a public charter school that serves students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in the Atlanta Public Schools district. To be eligible to attend Drew, a parent/guardian of a prospective student must submit an application during the annual  lottery application window. Seats are awarded by lottery in order of the school’s enrollment priorities.

Within Priorities C, D and E, Drew uses a weighted lottery to increase the likelihood of serving more economically disadvantaged students. This is in alignment with Drew’s strategic plan and charter, which aims to serve a mixed-income population of at least 65 percent economically disadvantaged students. The Lottery Application


The lottery application window for the 2021-2022 school year is February 1, 2021 through April 30, 2021. All applications must be submitted prior to 11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2021. All applications must be submitted through Drew's online process. 

2021-2022 Lottery Application

If you are interested in placing your student on the existing waitlist for the current school year (2020-2021) you may complete an application here. Any eligible post-lottery application will be added to the end of its priority within the waitlist in the order in which it was received.

The Lottery

All qualifying applications that are received during the application window will be included in a lottery held at 6 p.m. on May 6, 2021.  While the date and time of the lottery are finalized, the location of the lottery (in-person or virtually) will depend on the school’s operating status at that time and current public health guidelines.

Each applicant will be anonymously identified by a lottery identification number. Depending on the communication preference selected when submitting the application, your student's lottery identification number will be emailed and/or texted to you on May 5, 2021. You do not need to be present (either in-person or virtually) for your student to be included in the lottery or to receive the results. Certified results will be posted to this website no later than May 14, 2021. 

All qualifying applicants will either be seated or placed on a waitlist. Acceptance letters will include detailed information about next steps for enrollment.
