Get Involved
Drew Charter School welcomes volunteers whose talents and intentions align with our mission and priorities. Whether serving as a room parent, guest reader, or sharing insights on Career Day, volunteers make a positive and lasting impact on our school community.
All volunteers complete a pre-registration and clearance process to ensure a safe, enriching experience. Once authorized, volunteers check in through our Visitor Management System, wear a visitor badge, and follow their designated schedule.
For additional information or to verify your current volunteer clearance status, please contact us at drewvolunteers@drewcharterschool.org.
We look forward to welcoming you to our team of dedicated volunteers!

Helping Families Get Involved, Safely and Easily
Volunteer Levels:
Understanding Your Role
Level 2 Volunteers:
- Classroom volunteers
- On-campus events
- Reading with students
- School celebrations
- Always supervised by Drew staff
Level 3 Volunteers:
- Field trip chaperones
- Off-campus activities
- Approved after-school activities
- May supervise small groups of studetns as directed by Drew staff
Clearance Does Not Equal Event Registration
Having an active Level 2 or Level 3 volunteer clearance does not automatically register you for a school event or activity. Even if you are already cleared for the current school year, you must:
Sign Up → Complete the Pre-Registration Form → Complete Safety Training → Check In
Although the Safety Training will only need to be completed once, all other steps of the process must be completed for every volunteer opportunity you plan to attend.
Check-In Requires Roster Confirmation
Only volunteers who have:
- Completed the required volunteer registration process,
- Submitted the Volunteer Pre-Registration Google Form, and
- Appeared on the school's official volunteer roster
...will be permitted to check in for their scheduled volunteer assignment.
Volunteers who are not listed on the official roster may be asked to select an alternative date to serve.
At Drew Charter School, we value the partnership of our families and community volunteers. We want it to be easy for families to support our students while ensuring that appropriate safety procedures are followed for every volunteer opportunity.
We have streamlined the volunteer process for many school-based opportunities. Please review the requirements below before signing up to volunteer. (Click here to download a PDF of our comprehensive volunteer requirements document including details about Level 2 and Level 3 clearance.)
All Volunteers Must Complete These Steps
Before participating in any volunteer opportunity, all Level 2 and Level 3 volunteers—including volunteers who already have an active clearance for the current school year—must:
1. Sign Up for the Volunteer Opportunity
- Teacher
- Grade level
- Academy
- School-sponsored program or event
2. Complete the Volunteer Pre-Registration Form
Complete the required Volunteer Pre-Registration Google Form at least 7 business days (one week) before your scheduled volunteer date.
This form serves as the official volunteer check-in roster for the school's front office.
3. Complete Volunteer Safety Training—This is a new step for all volunteers this year.
Complete the self-guided Volunteer Safety Expectations training and submit the accompanying completion survey before your scheduled volunteer date.
4. Bring Valid Photo Identification
When you arrive at school, you must:
- Present a valid government-issued driver's license or other approved photo ID.
- Allow your ID to be scanned through the school's visitor management system.
- Receive and wear your visitor/volunteer badge while serving.
Thank You for Partnering With Drew!
Your time, talents, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for helping us create a school community where family engagement and student safety go hand in hand.
